Short Range Business Radio (SRBR) and 446 MHz

S.R.B.R. (Short Range Business Radio) frequencies have now been withdrawn by OFCOM

446 MHz walkie-talkies can be used by anyone, there is no need for users to obtain a licence, pass any type of test and further more there are no costly on-going airtime charges.

The radios are hand portables with a short range (up to approximately 1? miles) for use in the thousands of situations where this type of service is required as opposed to a more powerful and more expensive system provided by PMR.446 MHz transceivers , manufactured by Motorola, Icom, Kenwood, Cobra, Maxon, Alan and many others, offer:

  • NO call charges
  • NO airtime contract
  • Almost no running costs
  • No licence required
  • Reliability
  • Flexibility
  • Improved efficiency
  • Simple operation
  • Immediate operation
  • Unlimited numbers of users

Many organisations require a communications system that is reliable, easy to use and costs little to set up and operate.

446 MHz is the NEW and EASY answer for those that have found traditional services too costly or complex to operate. Some of the many applications are:

  • Schools
  • Leisure Centres
  • Theatres
  • Garden Centres
  • Motorcyclists & Training Schools

How much will it cost?

The beauty of the new SRBR and 446 MHz service is that the overall cost is very low.

The equipment itself costs remarkably little compared to other communication products and no operators licence is required.

There are of course a few fringe benefits of the SRBR and 446 MHz service:

  • NO monthly airtime charges.
  • NO call charges.
  • NO restriction of the area in use.
  • NO limit to the number of users.
  • NO hidden extras.

Apart from the small amount of electricity used to charge the battery it is FREE to operate.
