| Description
The IC-F31GT/GS series is a range of advanced hand portable transceivers, launched by Icom, aimed purely at systems. Incorporating good design and featuring a large capacity for expansion, the new IC-F31GT/GS series contains a wide range of built-in features including 256 channel capacity, a 2-line-LCD display, backlit keypad, wide/narrow 25kHz/12.5kHz channels, multiple tone signaling standards, Flash-ROM and high speed PLL. This makes it the ideal transceiver for small systems as well as large, wide area networks.
Key features
The strength of the IC-F31GT/GS series is its versatility. The IC-F31GT/GS is designed on a Flash ROM platform, which enables future system upgrades and future compatibility with other protocols. Featuring state-of-the-art RF technology including a newly designed Fractional-NT PLL system, the ultra high-speed circuitry provides stable data communications. A new speech compressor (Audio Compander function) provides crystal clear audio under noisy conditions.
The IC-F31GT/GS series has a variety of signaling standards built in, including CTCSS, DTCS, 2 Tone, 5 Tone and DTMF. Both encode and decode functions are also built in. ANI (Automatic Number Identification) identifies the unit in use with the appropriate dispatch equipment. Two levels of voice scrambling are available to safeguard your transmissions. You can choose either the UT-109 Simple Inversion module or the more secure UT-110 Rolling Code module.
The LCD Display is large and easy to read. Utilising full dot matrix characters of up to 2 lines, the user can create a sentence of up to 24 characters. You can also display your own personal icons, programmed from a PC.
The Man Down feature (optional UT-113 required) is an important safety feature for lone workers in potentially dangerous situations. Two internal option slots, not available previously on Icom commercial radios, allow you to combine optional features such as scramblers and man down facilities.
The IC-F31GT/GS features 256 memory channels, which may be selected from either the keypad or the rotary knob. Each channel may be programmed either 12.5 or 25 kHz wide to allow for UK and export use and can be organised into 16 banks. Further customisation of the transceiver may be gained from eight programmable keys, each of, which can be assigned one of 27 different functions.
The IC-F31GT/GS features an attractive ergonomic design. The backlit keypad is easy to use at night or under low light conditions. The body is compact and meets MIL STD grade C, D and E for shock and vibration.
To meet the differing needs of a wide range of users the series is divided into the IC-F31GS and IC-F31GT for VHF and the IC-F41GS and the IC-F41GT for UHF.
